Lorne Campbell is the Artistic Director of Greyscale and a Creative Fellow of the R.S.C.
Recipient of the prestigious S.A.C. Unleashed Bursary 2009 and the Associate Director of the Traverse Theatre between 2004 & 2008. Productions at the Traverse include NIGHT TIME, CARTHAGE MUST BE DESTROYED (nominated Wolf Whiting Award, winner C.A.T.S Best New Play), DISTRACTED (winner Meyer Whitworth Award, nominated Critics Award Theatre Scotland - C.A.T.S., Wolf Whiting Award), BROKE (nominated C.A.T.S.), WHITE POINT (nominated C.A.T.S.), MELODY, EAST COAST CHICKEN SUPPER (associate director - winner Fringe First), IN THE BAG and THE NEST. Other directing credits include BROKENVILLE (Russian tour), PEOPLE NEXT DOOR (Balkans tour), DEATH AND THE MAIDEN (UK Tour), HOW TO TELL THE MONSTERS FROM THE MISFITS at The Door at Birmingham Rep, co-devising and directing CHERRY BLOSSOM at the Traverse Theatre and in Poland, WHAT THE ANIMALS SAY for Oran Mor/ Belfast International Festival and directing CARTHAGE MUST BE DESTROYED, GAGARIN WAY at the Ustinov at Bath Theatre Royal and SIDE EFFECTS for Radio 3.
Most recenty Lorne has directerd new Greyscale touring productions of: MY ARM by Tim Crouch; WHAT WOULD JUDAS DO by Stewart Lee; A PRAYER by Selma Dimitrijevic and TONIGHT DAVID IRELAND WILL LECTURE, DANCE AND BOX By Sandy Grierson. WHAT THE ANIMALS SAY will shortly transfer to the Belfast International Festival.
