Steven Hoggett - Movement Director, Choreographer & Director
Steven is the winner of 2009 Olivier award for Best Theatre Choreographer for the National Theatre of Scotland's BLACK WATCH. He was nominated for a Tony Award for ONCE on Broadway and nominated for an Olivier Award for THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME.
Steven is co-founder and Artistic Director of Frantic Assembly, on of the UK's leading physical theatre companies. Recent productions include LOVESONG, BEAUTIFUL BURNOUT, OTHELLO, STOCKHOLM, POOL (NO WATER), DIRTY WONDERLAND and HYMNS.
His other recent Movement Director and Choreography credits include AMERICAN IDIOT (Broadway, US & UK Tours); DR DEE (Manchester International Festival / ENO), 365, THE BACCHAE (also Associate Director), BLACK WATCH (also Associate Director) and THE WOLVES IN THE WALLS (National Theatre of Scotland), DIDO QUEEN OF CARTHAGE, THE HOTHOUSE and MARKET BOY (National Theatre), DALSTON SONGS (Royal Opera House - Linbury), IMPROPER (Bare Bones Dance Company), VILLETTE (Stephen Joseph Theatre), FRANKENSTEIN (Royal and Derngate) and MERCURY FUR and THE STRAITS (Paines Plough).
Steven has also provided choreography for Prada, Radio One, Selfridges and the award-winning 'Harmonious Dance' TV Commercial for as well as music promos for artists including Goldfrapp, Calvin Harris, Wiley, Bat for Lashes and Franz Ferdinand.
Current projects include choreography for ONCE in the West End and on Broadway (8 Tony Awards), PETER AND THE STARCATCHER (5 Tony Awards) for New York Theatre Workshop, RIGOLETTO for The Metropolitan Opera, THE FULL MONTY at Sheffield, LET THE RIGHT ONE IN for National Theatre of Scotland and THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME at the National Theatre/ West End.
