Becs Andrews - Theatre Designer | |
Becs studied Fine Art at The Ruskin School of Drawing (Oxford University), specialising in video and installation art, before training in Theatre Design at Wimbledon School of Art. She was the overall winner of the Linbury Prize for Stage Design and represented the UK in the Prague Quadrennial. Recent designs include ON THE RIM OF THE WORLD for the Royal Opera House (main stage), THE ART OF NOT LOOKING BACK and UNTITLED for Hofesh Shechter Company, THE HOTEL (awarded a fringe first), a site-specific comedy show directed by Mark Watson and SESSION for Introdans (Netherlands). Other work includes LA SERVA PADRONA at The Royal Opera House (Linbury Stage), THE QUIET LITTLE ENGLISHMAN a site-specific musical for Liverpool 08, TWELFTH NIGHT for ETT, CYRANO DE BERGERAC at Basingstoke Haymarket, THE ELECTRIC HILLS at Liverpool Everyman, JEFF KOONS for ATC at the ICA, TWOS a site-specific dance piece in St Pancras Crypt, SLAPPERS AND SLAPHEADS and DIRTY DUSTING at Royal Court Liverpool, TRUCKSTOP for Metal, FIESQUE for UCOpera, SET AND RESET for EDge and London Contemporary Dance School, BEAU JEST at Hackney Empire, THE MAGIC TREE for Cork Midsummer Festival, ALBERT HERRING for BYO, EUGENE ONEGIN for Scottish Opera / RSAMD, ORESTES 2.0 and THE REVENGER’S TRAGEDY at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, APERTURE (which Becs also directed) at BAC, CLEPSYDRA for Solas Dance, LOUNGE at The Place, THE TINDER BOX at Unity Theatre, OUR KIND OF FUN at Live Theatre, HAMLET for Al Bustan Festival (Beirut) and Cockpit Theatre, CORNER OF THE WORLD at Parts, Rosas (Brussels), WEST SIDE STORY at Oxford Playhouse, PERPETUA at Latchmere Theatre and THE MAGIC FLUTE at Oxford Apollo. She is currently working on MOMO, a ballet in Bern. |

Jemima Levick - Director | |
Jemima recently directed Peter Pan at the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh and just before that directed her first production as Associate Director at Dundee Rep, The Elephant Man. Prior to this she directed Beauty and the Beast for the Rep which was nominated at the 2008/9 CATS Awards for Best Production, Best Director and Best show for Children & Young People, and won the award for Best Design. She has also directed The Ducky for Borderline Theatre Company, co-directed Transform: Fife for the National Theatre of Scotland, Baby Baby for Stellar Quines, Shetland Arts and Perissology Theatre Productions, and Moonwalking and Killing Brando for the Oran Mor. Prior to this she spent some time working for the National Theatre of Scotland as Workshop Director (maternity cover). Her other directing credits include; The Glass Menagerie for the Royal Lyceum, a workshop production for Grid Iron Theatre Company of an adaptation of Roald Dahl's short story Lamb to the Slaughter; was project director for Paines Plough's critically acclaimed Ravenhill for Breakfast; Elf Analysis and The Date for Oran Mor; Talking to Terrorists at the RSAMD and Three Sisters at Queen Margaret University. In 2005 she directed A Christmas Carol for the Royal Lyceum for which she was nominated for a CATS Award for Best Director and by the Critics Circle for Best Newcomer. Prior to that she had co-directed an interactive play website Sweet Fanny Adams in Hyperspace Eden for Fifty Nine Productions and children's show Hambledog and the Hopping Clogs for Perissology, which played at the Edinburgh Fringe and went on to tour to the English Theatre in Warsaw. |
