Alex Austin - Actor | |
Alex has just completed filming THE SWARM, a short directed by Tom Harper (The Scouting Book for Boys, Misfits, The Borrowers). He's Walthamstow born and bred and in the summer of 2011 took part in the Young Friends of the Almeida scheme. As part of this he appeared in John Donnelly's ENCOURAGE THE OTHERS, directed by Lu Kemp on the Almeida stage. Following that he played one of the leads in ANCIENT GREEK, a radio 4 afternoon play directed by Lu Kemp. He's recently finished his studies at sixth form. |

Signe is a designer working in theatre, opera and on screen - she is currently working on BENEFACTORS for the Sheffield Crucible directed by Charlotte Gwinner and MATHEMATICS OF THE HEART directed by Donnacadh O'Briain for Theatre 503. Recent productions include GAMESHOW, a dance piece for Company Chameleon which premiered at the Lowry, FAITH, HOPE AND CHARITY directed by Leonie Kubigsteltig at Southwark Playhouse, THE GLEE CLUB for Hull Truck and TURN OF THE SCREW directed by Ed Dick for the King's Head. She has also just designed a short film for Mike Figgis. Opera credits include LA SERVA PADRONA at Sa de Miranda in Portugal, VOLUME for the ENO Opera Works at Sadlers Wells, dance credits include MERIDIAN and PHANTASY for the Rambert company at the Queen Elizabeth Hall. Matthew Lenton - Director | |
Matthew founded Vanishing Point in 1999. Recent work includes SATURDAY NIGHT, a co-production with Teatro Nacional Sao Joao (Porto), Teatro Sao Luis (Lisbon), Centro Cultural Vila Flor (Guimaraes and Tramway (Glasgow); THE BEGGAR'S OPERA, a co-production with the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh and the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry; INTERIORS, a co-production with Napoli Teatro Festival Italia, Traverse Theatre and Lyric Hammersmith; LITTLE OTIK (an adaptation of the film by Jan Svankmajer); SUBWAY, commissioned by The Lyric Hammersmith; MANCUB, a co-production with Soho Theatre. Other work includes an adaptation of LES AVEUGLES, by Maurice Maeterlinck, performed in total darkness as part of a groundbreaking Playing in the Dark season at BAC. Matthew works regularly at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, developing work with acting students and most recently directing DRACULA by Liz Lochhead. He recently directed his first film, BOY, for Touchpaper Television and Channel 4. In 2010, Matthew was chosen to be the first British director of the Ecole des Maitres, a European theatre laboratory previously associated with Jerzy Grotowsky, Peter Stein, Emuntas Nekrosias and Jan Fabre. Matthew has won numerous awards including, most recently, Best Director for INTERIORS (Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland), Best Production for INTERIORS (Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland) and Best Director for SUBWAY (Scotland on Sunday Theatre Award). He is currently working on a new show for the Unicorn Theatre, THE LEGEND OF CAPTAIN'S CROW'S TEETH and on WONDERLAND, the new Vanishing Point show for 2012. |

Tal Rosner - Video Artist & Filmmaker | |
Tal is an award winning video artist and filmaker. After graduating from St Martins in Graphic Design, he made his name with radical interpretations of musical compositions where he collaborates with musicians to combine layers of sound and visuals - work includes Katia and Marielle Labeque's recording of Stravinsky and Debussy's Two Piano Music. Other recent work includes creating the film and animation for THE MOST INCREDIBLE THING, a new ballet which premiered at Sadlers Wells in March 2011 with music by the Pet Shop Boys and direction/choreography by Javier De Frutos. Hiis film POLARIS, with music by Thomas Ades was commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the San Francisco Symphony for the opening of the Miami New World Symphony building which was designed by Frank Gehry in January 2011. He also designed CHRONOGRAPH with Casey Reas which was a site specfic digital mural developed exclusively for the building's exterior. IN SEVEN DAYS which Tal created with composer Thomas Ades, was commissioned by the Southbank Centre and the LA Philharmonic and had its UK premiere at the Royal Festival Hall - its on a world Tour including being performed in New York by the New York Philharmonic. Tal has been responsible for the title sequences for all 5 series of the groundbreaking Channel 4 show SKINS as well as the US version, and in 2008 he won the BAFTA for Best Title Sequence and he is about to film the titles for Series 6. |
