IIt’s awards time again, and this year sees In The Loop, the feature so-written by Simon Blackwell and starring Peter Capaldi, Tom Hollander and James Gandolfini winning the Scottish Baftas for Best Writing and Best direction, and the Best Screenplay award at the Athens Film Festival. So far it has also won Best Film at the British Comedy Awards, and has just won Best Screenplay at the British Independent Film Awards.



Also a winner at the Comedy Awards is the Saturday night staple, Harry Hill’s TV Burp, co-written by David Quantick. It won last year, and also has an armful of other awards, including a BAFTA.


The Thick of It written by Simon Blackwell also won the Best Comedy Programme in the Broadcast Awards 2008. Both The Thick Of It and Harry Hill's TV Burp were in The Times top twenty programmes of the decade.


David Quantick's latest book, The Dangerous Book For Middle Aged Men has just been published by Preface. It’s hilarious. Really.


The scripts of the multi-award winning series The Thick of It co-written by Simon Blackwell have now been released as a book. You can buy it on Amazon here.  Simon's work on The Thick of It has just been nominated for a Writers' Guild Award for Best Comedy.

I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue is back on Radio 4, with Jack Dee in the chair, and his script is written by the same man that wrote for Humphrey Lyttelton for all those years, Iain Pattinson.


Lyttelton's Britain, written by Iain Pattinson, who wrote all of Humph's stuff on I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue is now available published by Preface.

The Thick Of It, co-written by Simon Blackwell has just finished going out on BBC 2on Saturday nights to great critical acclaim.


Simon Blackwell is also on the writing team (well, there’s him and Sam and Jesse) of Peep Show. All 6 series are available on DVD.


Trevor Dann has written a biography, Darker Than The Deepest Sea: In Search Of Nick Drake which has just been published by Portrait Publishing.  Trevor hosts the Sunday afternoon show on the Classic Gold Network.
